Our
History
Living Faith Fellowship was founded in 1905 as "Herbert Mennonite Church" by Franz Sawatzky. The first building (pictured) was built in 1908 under the direction of Mr. Ed. Evanson of Herbert.
In 1960 the congregation chose its first full-time pastor, John C. Siemens. Eight years later, in 1968, the construction of a new sanctuary began next to the old church. On May 18th, 1969 the first service was held in the new building.
In 1990-91 the church left the General Conference and became an Independent church. The church remained independent until 2007. On April 29th they joined the Associated Gospel Churches, and changed the name of the church to "Living Faith Fellowship".
Our
Pastor
Lincoln & Marilyn Vellacott came to serve as our pastoral couple in the fall of 2015.
They have lived and ministered all of their lives in Saskatchewan and are delighted to be able to call Herbert home. Previously they have been involved in camping and pastoral ministry, and count it a privilege to serve the Lord in this way.
They make their goal to love the Lord, to love God's Word and to love people, by the power of the Holy Spirit and as God's grace enables them.
Lincoln enjoys most sports (especially hockey and football), sharing God's Word, encouraging others in the things of the Lord, and visiting with and having fun with people. He would say that Marilyn loves music, gardening and her family. Being a spare bus driver enables her to stay involved with the ministry of church and community.
